Our old batteries had died a death after 8 years plus of abuse which is not bad for sealed lead acid batteries on a sailing boat so Richard spent the day fitting new AGM batteries. Of course they are not the same size as the old batteries so some adjustment of the battery fixing arrangements was necessary. Happily at Marchwood we have all the facilities to do this and as nothing is thrown away there are plenty of scraps of wood available to make the required adjustments and make sure the batteries are secure. Once everything was re-connected all seemed well. The old batteries were loaded in the car for Anne to take to the recycling centre tomorrow and after food shopping Anne went off to her pottery evening and Richard stayed on Harvard.
