Drove home (terrible traffic, so slow going), did some last minute shopping, had a shower and sorted out a few things. Hopped on the train into Southampton and then the bus to Marchwood. All good connections so we were soon back onboard. The wind had turned south-easterly which is not good for Marchwood as a real chop builds up around the pontoons. The choice was to go onto our mooring or head off. Decided, even though it was into the wind, to head for Cowes on the last of the ebb tide. On checking the engine found that we had a leak so we were a little delayed fixing that but made good time down Southampton Water on the tide. Engine worked fine which was a big relief. Quite choppy off Calshott (wind over tide) but it calmed down as we approached Cowes and we were soon safely moored up on the Folly Inn pontoon. Stayed onboard with the plan to go ashore tomorrow.
