Wednesday,18 June – Salcombe

No problem with the anchor so the first job was to blow up the dinghy to go into town. Unfortunately the foot pump broke. It was old and worn so no loss but it meant we couldn’t inflate the dinghy floor as hard as we would like which made it a bit like walking on a very soft bed when we jumped in. Any way no problems and we were soon in town enjoying a coffee and a look around the art galleries.

Managed to source a new pump, did some shopping, filled the water containers and headed back to Harvard. Then after lunch we headed back into town for shower (and a beer) at the Yacht Club and just watched the world go by. Set off back to Harvard and managed to run out of fuel in the outboard halfway back!! Happily the tide and wind were both behind us so it was an easy row back upriver to the anchorage.

Packed the outboard and dinghy away and an early night as the plan is to catch the tide going west towards Fowey tomorrow.
