Friday, 20 June – Falmouth

Inflated the dinghy; new pump much better than the old one, so pleased with it. Checked in at the harbour office and after being asked for a super yacht fee, managed to persuade them that a more reasonable but still expensive mooring fee was due for a 36ft yacht rather than a 36m one. Then it was up the hill with our washing to the service laundrette. Good value we have found compared to feeding the marina machines with money and especially if you have sheets and duvet covers to wash. Back into town for coffee and the tour of the art galleries, of which Falmouth has a lot!! Lunch, bought more books, Richard had a hair cut and he even bought new shorts. Then it was time to head back to pick up our washing and head back to Harvard.

All in all a typical day in Falmouth and the wind was still easterly. Fitted snubbers in the mooring lines and this seemed to help alleviate the snatching but it was hard to tell as the wind was easing by the evening.
