Brought up the anchor at around 08:00 BST along with a fair amount of weed and mud and set off for the open sea. Hoisted the mainsail in the harbour and motor sailed out past Prawle Point and found the tide still running strongly with us. Quickly round Start Point and we then unfurled the Genoa and drifted along with the current in a gentle westerly breeze. Richard decided to have a go at fishing and soon caught a small mackerel but was unable to double his catch. The wind did increase a bit and we were probably going too fast at times and in the wrong place to catch anymore but we persevered until we at the entrance to Torbay off Berry Head. There was a lot of activity so we put away the fishing gear, rolled up the genoa and motorsaied the mile or so to Brixham having had quite a nice sail.
Once in Brixham harbour we stowed away the mainsail and soon found the pre-booked berth we had been allocated in the marina. Richard cleaned and filleted his fish on the pontoon (no mess in the boat!) and ate it for a late lunch. Then it was time for a nice shower and prepare to meet our friends David and Debbie for supper after a quick visit to the town centre to check out the shops. Had a great evening with David and Debbie, nice seafood in a bistro overlooking Torbay and enjoyed a peaceful night (with no anchoring worries).
