Babysitting day so Anne left early to catch the train into London to look after Jiya. Richard washed the boat down and cleaned the decks and cockpit. He then rubbed down and varnished the teak capping around the forward hatch and the heads hatch. A combination of condensation around the aluminium frames plus the leak we had around the forward hatch last season means the varnish doesn’t last long and the teak looked very sad. This took much longer than anticipated but it already looks better. Anne was back around 20:30, with a heavy cold and tired after a long day and with Richard anticipating doing parkrun, it was an early night for both of us.
