Launch day – Sunday, 27 April

After some last minute work we were ready to launch Harvard. Still feeling pretty ill with the awful flu like symptoms that seem to be hanging on. Down at the Club bright and early and we were soon in the rig and launched down the slipway. Then the engine cooling pump wouldn’t pump seawater. Never had this problem previously but before the engine damaged itself we tied up to the side of the slipway and stopped the engine. It turned out to be simple airlock and after releasing the pump cover until the water came through the engine was soon back in operation and we were moored up on the pontoon system clear of the slipway before the next yacht was ready for launching.

Then it was a case of bringing more things down from the car. Richard went home for more equipment and brought back fish and chips for our supper. Then it was time for an early night, first one onboard for this year.
