Felt much more prepared and set off down Southampton Water with absolutely no wind. It carried on like this all the way to the Beaulieu River where we arrived on a rising tide and found a free visitor’s mooring buoy just off the Beaulieu River SC. At least we gave the engine a good run even if we had not enjoyed any sailing. Of course as soon as we were safely on our mooring the wind came up but that is just how it goes. We fitted our new bow protector (bought at the Southampton BoatShow) that protects the boat when it touches the mooring buoy. It seems to fit alright. All really peaceful and we were able to relax and watch the world go by after paying our harbour dues. We sere surprised at how expensive mooring has become!!! At least we are out and about even though Richard still has this awful flu bug hanging on and Anne is still feeling tired with the after effects.
