Sunday, 4 August, Lymington to Newtown Creek

A leisurely start after Anne had bought a Sunday paper and we set off just before midday to go the short distance across the Solent to Newtown Creek. There was hardly any wind so we motored the whole way with the last of the flood tide. At Newtown Creek there was a mooring buoy free so we took it and settled down to read the paper. A very lazy afternoon punctuated by the arrival of the National Trust warden and assistant to collect our mooring fee. At least it is going to a good cause.

Our planning has changed slightly in that our daughter’s new car has not been delivered, and she still has our car, so Richard’s car (which is off the road with a SORN) has an MOT booked for Thursday so that we have transport when we arrive back at Marchwood.
