Saturday, 21 June – Falmouth to the Helford River

Richard was up early to catch a bus and take part in the Penryn parkrun https://www.parkrun.org.uk/penryncampus/

Anne came ashore at the same time and walked around Pendennis Castle whilst Richard suffered!! A brutal parkrun course, 3 times down a hill and up again plus another uphill stretch to the finish. Still he made it and as the volunteers predicted he added 3 or 4 minutes on to his normal parkrun time. Then it was back for shower, meet up with Anne and brunch.

Then it was back to Harvard, slipped the mooring and headed off, towing the dinghy, for the Helford River which is not far away and the setting for many happy family holidays when the children were little. The wind was cyclonic, or in other words all over the place, so we motored the whole way and by the time we arrived a strong westerly had set in but we successfully anchored just offshore in the presence of two other Rustler 36s. By now it was too late to go ashore so we set the anchor alarm and settled in for the night.

The two other Rustler 36s anchored near us.
