Monday, 23 June – Helford River

A much calmer morning and first of all we had a visit from our neighbours on the blue Rustler 36, called Marianne. We had a lovely chat with Jim and Anne and shared anecdotes and experiences. Then it was time to head off to the beach at Durgan. Nothing has changed that much in Durgan since we used to holiday there except that many of the holiday cottages have been smartened up. We had hoped to visit the National Trust, Glendurgan Garden but unfortunately it is closed on a Monday so we walked to Helford Passage and back in beautiful weather.

Richard saw a hawk in the trees that was quite exciting. The local blackbird population in the same tree was very agitated!!!

Then we headed back to Harvard as the wind increased and spent a happy afternoon reading.
