Woke up to a grey and damp morning but we were determined to be ashore and visit Glendurgan Garden, a National Trust property. After preparing the dinghy we headed across the river and left the dinghy on the beach at Durgan. Walked up to the main road to the main entrance, the lower entrances being still closed until later, and sat in the cafe with a hot drink and a bacon roll as the rain poured down. However, it was time well spent as we managed to book our place in a marina in Plymouth so we can leave Harvard and go home for a few days.
It was still raining on and off but as we were already wet through we walked into Mawnan Smith, the local village to do a little bit of shopping in the local store and buy some lunch (turned out to be very tasty!). We wandered around and visited the silversmith and found she had her Freeman of the City of London certificate on the wall. We chatted to her for a while about Livery Companies. Probably over stayed our welcome and didn’t buy anything but she did size Anne’s ring finger for future reference!
Then we walked back to Glendurgan and walked through the gardens. It was raining quite hard but we made it to the centre of the maze where there is a little gazebo where we could shelter and eat our lunch. Then it was back down to the beach at Durgan.

Richard was determined to have his “slap up” meal at the sailing club, so after sorting ourselves out onboard Harvard we first tried to land on a beach nearby and walked to the sailing club but soon gave up on that idea and took the dinghy all the way to the sailing club pontoon. Having a hot shower after being wet all day was bliss and then it was time to have a really great meal and drinks. Fantastic steaks! Then we headed back in the mist as it became dark after a good day, despite the weather.

you could have sent some of that rain to Romsey..itl like a crisp here!
