Woke up to thick fog or mist but by the time we were due to leave it had cleared a little and we set off for Fowey. There was a little bit of wind from the southwest but it never came to anything, so much to Richard’s annoyance we motorsailed the whole way for about 6 hours. Very boring and only enlivened by some dolphins deciding to visit us. We radioed the harbour staff for advice and we were soon moored up to one of the dead (no water or electricity connections or a connection to shore) in the centre of the harbour.
We inflated the dinghy and went ashore for a little bit of shopping and a relaxing drink at a harbour side pub, which took away some of the frustrations of the day. Fowey itself is a little bit frustrating in itself as it is very busy and with cars trying to pass down the one narrow, one way, street through the town and little choice in terms of places to buy provisions.
