Our intention had been to go over to Rathlin Island in Harvard but we rang the harbourmaster and because it was the last day of the festival he had the pontoons full and yachts rafted up, so he didn’t recommend it. He also said there was swell in the harbour making it slightly uncomfortable. So we tried to book the ferry out to the island. Going out was fine but there was no availability coming back as the ferries were full with the returning festival goers. So we resigned ourselves to another day in Ballycastle.
In the afternoon we went for a walk along the beach, past the golf course and out to the headlands beyond. It was quite a nice walk but a bit of a frustrating day as none of our plans seemed to work out. Definitely leaving tomorrow and a visit to Rathlin Island will have to be postponed to another time.
