A shorter passage today. Just 5 miles or so from the entrance to Strangford Lough to Ardglass. After a relaxing morning we caught the start of the ebb tide following a much larger yacht out to sea where we hoisted sail and tacked south to Ardglass. It was still a strong southerly wind but with one reef in the mainsail and a partially furled genoa we were really flying along. In fact we rather overstood the entrance to Ardglass but this meant we could ease the sheets and go even faster!
The entrance to Ardglass is rather daunting with an unforgiving breakwater and rocks on either side, seemingly very close, but once in it all calmed down and we were able to easily find a berth. Unfortunately we then found there was no 4g signal which was important as Richard wanted to watch the England football match. We walked into town and, although missing the start, we found a bar with the television on and watched the rest of the game enjoying a Guinness or two. The locals were very friendly and gave us some tips as to how to catch the local buses.
