Up early to catch the tide going down the Sound of Mull. The chart plotter behaved itself and worked straight away so we are keeping our fingers crossed! Once outside Lochaline the wind soon came up to over 20 knots so with one reef and a reduced headsail we tacked down the Sound with the tide under us. Once further out the wind was a bit up and down and we were soon back to full sail and had a fantastic few hours sailing to the anchorage at Puilladobhrain. This a small anchorage amongst the rocks just south of Kerrera island and is a popular place. Happily it was not too busy, there was plenty of room and we were soon safely anchored.
There is a walk from the anchorage to the “bridge over the Atlantic” which is a quite well known tourist spot. We had been there before in 2016/2017 and this time decided to give it a miss and to chill onboard reflecting on a great day’s sailing and enjoying the peace and tranquility.
