It seemed a shame not to visit Dublin so we caught the train (DART) into the city. Wandered around a bit aimlessly to start with and after stopping for refreshments we headed for the Little Museum of Dublin https://www.littlemuseum.ie It was a little bit cheesy but at least it provided a flavour of the history of Ireland from Viking times up until the present day.
We then walked into the city centre where it was very busy and really quite hot with bright sunshine. It was a relief to sit down and have a bite of lunch and re-hydrate before planning what to do next. We decided to go on a guided walking tour and this turned out to be a good choice. Conor, our guide, was both informative and entertaining as he took us around the centre of Dublin and we learnt more about Ireland and the city itself. As even he described it, apart from a few notable buildings, Dublin is not endowed with great architecture or town planning but we enjoyed the experience and it was better than wandering around on our own.
Then it was back on the train and time to do a little shopping before repairing back to Harvard to put our feet up after a lot of walking and enjoy a nice glass of wine with supper.
