Tuesday, 25 June, Howth

What a change in weather from yesterday. Overcast with the cloud down to sea level so it wasn’t a day for being out on the water. We decided to do the long walk around the headland on the Howth cliff path so we donned hiking boots and anoraks and set off in light drizzle. It was a great walk, well way marked. The fog horns were sounding so we definitely made the right choice in not sailing. The whole walk took about three and a half hours and we came back through the town to do a little bit of shopping. Then it was an opportunity to freshen up before watching the football in the sailing club. Anne left at half time rightly complaining that it was boring. Richard stuck it out fortified with a glass or two of Guiness.
