Thomas was scheduled to catch the train back to London on Saturday morning so we headed over to Oban. The wind was still northerly so again we tacked in a northeasterly direction and again the wind was really up and down between nearly nothing and 20 knots. Happily it was a short sail as we were really tired after not sleeping very well the night before. We were soon tied up in the North Pier Pontoons, a transit marina in Oban. You can only stay 3 nights but the advantage is that it is walk ashore right into the centre of town.
We took a walk around town, showed Thomas where the station is located and did a little bit of shopping. We had intended to eat out to treat Thomas on his last night but we were too tired to cope with the hassle so we had a quick supper onboard and turned in early.
