Monday, 6 May, Oban to Loch Aline

A better weather day but with a cold north westerly wind. Set off to find that the map in the chart plotter had somehow been corrupted and we had no detail in the electronic chart. We decided to carry on as with four persons onboard we could do some old fashioned navigation plotting our position on paper charts. We had a good sail to the bottom of the Sound of Mull and with a favourable tide made good progress although with the wind on the nose and having to tack backwards and forwards in waves with wind over tide, it was hard work. Late afternoon we decided it would be hard to make it to Tobermory so we “ducked out” and went in to Loch Aline. Moored up on the pontoons and relaxed and planned for the next day.

Looking up Loch Aline from the pontoons.
